“The beginning of the end of the war”

Russian forces have left Kherson, a major southern city in Ukraine.

It marks the "beginning of the end" of the war with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on a visit to the city.

There’s plenty of conflict ahead, Zelensky acknowledged. But a withdrawal of oppressive forces is a major milestone in the latter half of every war we’ve known.
