Global Dividends jump 11% in Q1- outpacing CPI

“Global dividends paid jumped by 11% to a total of $302.5 billion in the first quarter of 2022 – a record for Q1.

US and Canadian payouts rose to an all-time quarterly record with growth broad-based across sectors; 99% of US companies raised payouts or held them steady.

Every region in our index saw double-digit growth in dividends and every sector posted increases, with particular strength seen in oil and mining. At the country level, the U.S., Canada and Denmark broke all-time quarterly records.”
